Criteria for APAGE Training Centers : |
1.A candidate hospital shall be a large-scale hospital with more than 500 beds or a university-based teaching hospital. 2.It shall perform at least 300 endoscopic cases per year. 3.It shall be equipped with good endoscopic instruments and facilities. 4.Able to perform laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery 5.It shall form a GYN study group to prove it has sufficient skills and professional physicians to conduct the laparoscopic multi-center study. The APAGE will charge USD $3,000 for a certification application and processing fee. The qualified training centers will be given an authorized inscribed board and need to renew their certificates for every 3 years. No less than 2 assistant professors specializing in endoscopy must get involved in the training courses/programs. Once a trainee is trained for at least 3 months in the training center and fulfills all the required courses/programs, he or she will be awarded a formal certificate stating that he or she is a qualified, professional endoscopist. The APAGE will charge him or her for USD $100 for training cost (or so-called tuition). The concept of setting up the Training Committee is not to make profits, but to ensure that those endoscopists recognized by the APAGE can provide better medical service for their patients. On the other hand, with this scheme, the quality of women’s healthcare can be enhanced as well.
