Short-Term Fellowship (Observership)

 

For doctors who would like to apply for observership in APAGE centre(s) for Advanced Gynaecologic Laparoscopy and all aspects of Gynaecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery/Therapy.

  • Candidate(s) can apply for the short-term program which is usually one to three months in total duration.
  • Hands-off observation only
  • Duration & placement of observer-ship subject to approval by APAGE
  • Doctors who have completed the short-term Observer-ship program will obtain certificate from the APAGE.
  • Doctors will be placed at one or more training facilities that are APAGE accredited Training Centres / Under supervision of APAGE accredited trainers.
 
Certification
  • Trainees who have completed the short-term observership program will obtain a certificate from APAGE-MIT. It usually takes one to three months for the certificates issued by the hospital to be sent out to trainees after the fellowship is finished.
 
Course Fee
  • USD $1,000 (Including a 10-year APAGE-MIT membership, tuition fees)

Long Term Fellowship
FMIGS (Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynaecologic Surgery)


Clinical Fellowship (Long-term, minimum 1-year duration):
Doctors interested in hands-on surgical training may apply for this long-term program, designed for experienced practitioners seeking advanced training in Gynaecologic and Gynaecologic-Oncology MIS. The typical period of attachment ranges from one to two years.
  • Hands-on practice (depends on mentors’ evaluation)
  • Case studies & Research publications strongly encouraged
  • Surgical video editing
  • Individual mentoring
 
Certification
  • FMIGS trainees who are successful in completion of FMIGS(APAGE-MIT) programme will obtain certificates from both Linkou Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital and the APAGE-MIT. It usually takes one to three months for the certificates issued by the hospital to be sent out to trainees after the fellowship is completed.
 
Post-Nominals
  • Trainees who have successfully completed the FMIGS programme will be eligible to use Post nominals: FMIGS(APAGE-MIT)
 
Special Clause

Recommended maximum age to start FMIGS: 44

  • After completion of FMIGS, fellows who are age 45 at completion of FMIGS will be eligible to be YAG member for another 3 years till age 48 (by APAGE-MIT regulations, YAG membership is reserved for surgeons up to and including age 45)
 
Inclusive Clause
  • At APAGE, we believe in, and encourage life-long learning. Applicants who are age 45 and above may still apply for FMIGS(APAGE-MIT) long term programme. Such applicants are required to join as APAGE + YAG member during the entire duration of his/her fellowship training, and shall receive the YAG benefits(YAG Support/YAG Video Presentation opportunity in Annual Congress/ YAG platform) till completion of his/her fellowship/reach maximum age of 48.(whichever is later). Such candidates however, will only be eligible to maintain YAG membership status/ For election into YAG Executive Committee up to and including age 48. (Beyond age 48, only YAG support and benefits apply till candidate completes fellowship, and then candidate will maintain APAGE Member status provided he/she is up to date with membership requirements).
 
Couse Fee
  • USD $5,000 (Including a 10-year APAGE membership + two workshop registrations (dry lab hands on hysteroscopy and cadaveric lab) + tuition)
