Introduction
About Young APAGE Group (YAG)
The establishment of a committee and subgroup to represent young, emerging gynae laparoscopic surgeons and Gynae-MIS doctors was first proposed in the APAGE board meeting in year 2013. By year 2014 YAG was officially formed with Dr Veerapol from Thailand as it’s first chairman and an executive committee for YAG. YAG committee members are Gynae Laparoscopic/MIS surgeons from various countries in the region who fulfill criteria and subsequently elected into committee by APAGE board and YAG chairman.
Since then, at each APAGE Annual Congress, the YAG executive committee has held YAG video presentation sessions for surgeons world-wide to attend the annual congress and present their videos, showcase new ideas to stimulate discussion and progress in the Gynae-MIS community. As a tradition, every year at the annual congress of APAGE-MIT, the best presenter with the best video in the session will be awarded with recognition and certificate from APAGE-YAG. The response has always been overwhelming with many doctors and surgeons from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond taking part in this event. Other than the annual YAG session at APAGE-MIT Annual Congress, YAG also represent young Gynae Laparoscopic/MIS surgeons in advocacy, training and learning opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region with multiple affiliated organizations and like-minded experts, YAG aims to propagate and develop the field of Gynae Endoscopy & Minimally Invasive Therapy in line with APAGE-MIT mission.
